Black and white landscape film photography. Buy limited edition fine art prints. Available in three sizes.
The locations in these photographs might all be new to you. Partly, that’s because—as much as I like Yosemite and the Golden Gate Bridge—California's 'greatest hits' landscapes have been covered. But mainly it’s because I want to reveal my own, very personal vision of California. This vision is inward-looking, which might sound odd coming from a landscape photographer. You'll wonder, 'What could be more outward-looking than a landscape photograph?' The thing is, when you’ve lived in California for a half-century—and discovered so many of its obscure gems, unknown to guidebooks—it gets inside your dreams. My California dreams have zero objectivity. Over the decades this wonderful corner of our earth has revealed itself in ever more subtle and magnificent ways. My California bears little resemblance to the tourist's California. It's more like John Steinbeck's, I think. And that’s the California I mean to share.
